Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1 Sat Leave Los Angeles late evening

Day 2 Sun Cross the Dateline

Day 3 Mon Arrive Auckland

Arrive Auckland and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until this evening when you enjoy a drink and meet your Tour Director.

Day 4 Tue Waitomo Caves – Rotorua

Travel to the famous Waitomo Caves, for a guided tour and boat trip of the Glow-worm Grotto. Continue to Rotorua and tonight enjoy an entertaining Maori concert and special Hangi feast cooked in the traditional Maori way.

Day 5 Wed Rotorua

This morning ride the Skyline Gondola and enjoy breakfast with sparkling wine overlooking Rotorua. At Rainbow Springs view the rare Kiwi. Later, see the Rainbow Farm Show. Free time this afternoon.

Day 6 Thu Wellington

Travel to Taupo and stop to view the mighty Huka Falls. This afternoon enjoy a picturesque drive into the capital city of Wellington.

Day 7 Fri Blenheim

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Wellington before free time to explore the city. This afternoon join the inter-island cruise into tranquil Queen Charlotte Sound.

Day 8 Sat Christchurch

Travel along the rugged coast, enjoying stunning scenery and stop to view New Zealand fur seals. At Kaikoura, you will have the opportunity to take an optional whale watching flight. This afternoon continue to Christchurch.

Day 9 Sun Mt. Cook

Travel over the colorful, patchwork plains of Canterbury to Lake Tekapo and view the Church of the Good Shepherd. Continue past Mt. Cook National Park, home to New Zealand’s highest mountain.

Day 10 Mon Mt. Cook – Dunedin

Travel south via Oamaru to Dunedin. Free time this afternoon to explore.

Day 11 Tue Dunedin – Te Anau

Enjoy breakfast and a guided tour at Larnach Castle, New Zealand’s only authentic castle, before a sightseeing tour of Dunedin. Travel south to Te Anau.

Day 12 Wed Milford Sound

Travel to Fiordland, through some of New Zealand’s magnificent alpine country. This evening is at leisure in Queenstown for you to explore and dine independently at one of the many local restaurants.

Day 13 Thu Queenstown

Today is at leisure.

Day 14 Fri Franz Josef

Enjoy a visit to Arrowtown, then along the coastal road to Franz Josef, with the towering mountains on your right and the mighty Tasman Sea on your left.

Day 15 Sat Punakaiki – TranzAlpine

View the magnificent Franz Josef Glacier before continuing to Hokitika, where there is an opportunity to see beautiful native greenstone jewelry. Continue to Punakaiki to view the Pancake Rocks and blowholes. At Arthur’s Pass board the TranzAlpine train for a journey over the Southern Alps.

Day 16 Sun Depart Christchurch

You will be transferred to Christchurch Airport to connect with your onward flight (flights to depart anytime).
